Who actually did the disfellowshipping?

when i was disfellowshipped, i was really looking for a way out, although i did not want to be disfellowshipped, it was easier than making the break on my own.. i appreciate that many are distraught when they get df'd, but was the actual meeting controlled by the elders or you?.
how many were really in control of the meeting and knew that being disfellowshipped was actually a way of ensuring that you would get no more hassle from the elders?

We never really used the term "Car Group" in the city.
Instead, while out in service, we either worked House over House, or Corner to Corner. That was the big decision of the morning.

I always' hated the word Zeal. You must have zeal for the truth.
Zeal always reminded me of a brand of soap for some reason. Zest = Zeal?????

Pit Bull dogs
by Schizm ini want to start a discussion about pit bull dogs.
i live next door to a new neighbor who owns an american pit bull dog (also a female of the same breed that's just given birth to three pups).
when i'm in the owner's presence the dog allows me to pet him, but when the owner isn't present the dog acts extremely fierce to the point that i'm scared of him.

I believe there are no bad dogs. Just bad owners. I've played with Pit Bulls and other dogs who are considered "aggressive" and found that pit bulls can be the most sweetest type of dogs around.

I've been a Coke drinker for many many years. Coke just doesn't taste the same as it once did. The formula has definitely been changed. To me, it tastes more like the new coke did several years ago.
Or maybe my taste buds are just getting old.

You hit the nail right on the head with your post. This is something that I felt for a while now. Nobody outside of th religion can really understand the kind of bond all of us have, and will continue to have. A lot of the experiences on this board are shared and understood even by those who are half a world away.

Sad News...
by Sentinel inmy mom had her valve replacement and triple by-pass surgery today.
the operation lasted five hours, and they had just gotten her to her room at 8:00pm when she went into cardiac arrest.
the doctor tried everything, even opening up her chest and massaging her heart.
